Our Why

I'm passionate about sourcing the worlds very best coffee. With the ever-growing demand for great coffee surpassing the ability of farmers using best practices to produce it, demand is simply outpacing supply. In this type of environment, it helps to have a long history in the coffee business and many deep relationships to help navigate the complex and hyper-competitive purchasing channels.

I have been in the coffee business since 1978. I'm fortunate to have created many deep relationships with people whose families, for generations, have had a sole focus on importing the best coffee in the world to the USA. I may be looking for a honey processed micro-lot coffee from a small farm in Costa Rica or some Panamanian Boquete Geisha from one of the most esteemed coffee estates in all of Panama. No matter where the growing region may be, I have relationships with industry-specific people that help leverage those purchases.

This coffee shop is the result of my dream to create a space that continues the influence and historical importance that shops in the UK at the turn of the century started. We want to help cultivate ideas, fuel the conversations, and give the entrepreneurs of Louisville a place to get highly caffeinated and build their businesses. 

What's so cool as we have just past our 6th year anniversary (Feb 27), is that I'm seeing it happen every day. This makes me realize that our community needed a place like this. We are honored to be a small part of these stories.
